Srinagar 09 January (KNB): The garbage, which usually remains unheeded and the dustbins spillover by the trash during the snowfall, is being disposed of from morning by Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Srinagar workers who are already on the job of snow clearing.
Mayor Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu, today in his tweet stated, “The same field workers who are doing snow-clearance are also simultaneously helping in garbage lifting. Same machines – same manpower. Despite being severely deficient in manpower and crucial machinery, they are giving their 100% and deserve all the praise and support.”
In the tweet, Mattu compliments the workers’ efforts but simultaneously draws attention to the department’s insufficient manpower and the machinery which he had pointed out recently after clearing snow that had started from January 5th. (KNB)
