Srinagar, Sep 07,: 30 independent Corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) formed a group Srinagar Corporators Front (SCF) on Wednesday and expressed serious disappointment over the lack of development in majority of the wards in summer capital Srinagar.
The front in a statement according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com said “The city is being neglected on the developmental front and works of individual benefit are being done when works of public interest are being neglected.”
“It’s unfortunate how elected representatives are being disempowered by making the standing committees of the Corporation dysfunctional and not convening sessions of the corporation,” they claimed.
For streamlining of the corporation affairs and equitable development in every ward of Srinagar, Corporators formed a front namely Srinagar Corporators Front and nominated Danish Bhat as its president and Abdul Wahid Dar as Senior vice president, Mohammad Aqib Renzu as general secretary Asif Beigh as Chief organizer, Mohammad Lateef Mir Spokesperson, Nazia Yousuf as joint secretary, and Mohammad Saleem Bhat as additional secretary and other as other as members of the front, the statement added.
