The man v/s man and woman v/s woman game is over now. In contemporary age, every individual is competing with other to win the race irrespective of gender. Woman constitute important and sizable component of every society and has every right to live life up to the mark. Where on one side woman represent the image of pain and patience, the other side of woman can be seen earning, driving and holding higher positions in government or non-government organizations. Thus, breaking the man-made shackles and age old perceptions. Woman holds two directions- one to settle down the household chores and other to meet the challenges of the work place
In this regard, we sought opinion of different quarters on this burning issue.
“Woman should fully participate in all spheres and activities. In this modern world no one is less or more because of their gender. Woman should fight for their equality and strive for achieving the equivalent status. They have already made their presence in the world records and should go for more success.” said Haneef shah, a businessman.
“I believe woman is more gifted and strong than man. A women play multiple roles efficiently -manage family, children and office and never complain about their hardships.”, he added.
It’s unfortunate to see that in most parts of the world, gender discrimination still represent the ugly face of the society. Woman is still treated with injustice and unwritten differentiation. They are still put on lower level than man. Although, all religions and constitutions secure her with dignity.
Woman should definitely go for job options. She should not at all be dependent on someone. If she can manage home than she can manage office as well. It’s all in her hands how she holds and protects her dignity and status at workplaces,” said Amir Bhatt, a young scholar from Kashmir University.
And the same time, one cannot refute the fact that with the rise in professionalism among woman folk, more cases of eve teasing and molestation take place every now and then. With more women coming out of their homes, the problem of gender based violence is getting worse.
Some have diverse opinion on this serious issue. “In this age of devils, where woman is treated not less than an animal, she should prefer staying at home than opting for job and exposing herself to more danger. Educating a woman is necessary but she should restrain herself from working as much as possible”, says Mohammad Ibrahim, a shopkeeper from Srinagar.
Although, India has witnessed a 74% increase in crimes against women over past 15 years; a study based on the statistics released by the National Crime Records Bureau of India and other grim statistics have made life tough for women in our part of the world.
Even though, while some sections still see women confined in side their homes, this ground analysis has surely given a new phase to women. An overwhelming majority of men are in favour of working women which represents a positive change for our society and soon it will overtake those minds who still keep women in dark corners of their rooms.
