Encounter erupted on Monday between government forces and militants after Army and Jammu and Kashmir police launched a massive search operation in Batmadav village of Wanpora area in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
According to Sources said that gunfight broke out after army’s 42 RR and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a search operation in the village today evening.
“As the forces approached the suspected spot, militants opened fire on them, triggering a gunfight,” they said.
They said two to three militants are believed to be trapped inside the cordoned off area.
