Srinagar : Government forces Sunday attacked a freedom rally at Markundal, Sumbal in Bandipora district of north Kashmir resulting in injuries to several people.
Locals alleged that they were sitting peacefully in the Shamyaana erected for the purpose as the men in uniform stormed with lathis and started firing tear smoke canisters. Soon after people re-assembled and pelted stones on government forces.
The clashes were going on when reports last came in.
