‘Spending time with our forces gives me new energy’

Srinagar, Oct 19 : After visiting Gurez Sector along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate Diwali with army, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that the forces protect the motherland with utmost valour.




“Our forces protect our motherland with utmost valour, displaying highest traditions of sacrifice and dedication,” Modi tweeted in this afternoon.

He also said that spending time with forces has given him new energy. “Spending time with our forces gives me new energy,” he said, according to KNS correspondent, adding that “we exchanged sweets and interacted on the occasion.”

“Happy to know that the Jawans practice Yoga regularly,” he also wrote on his twitter account.
In his three tweets, Modi said expressed glad for celebrating the festival with the forces. “Glad to have celebrated Diwali with our brave Army and BSF Jawans in the Gurez Valley, Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

As PM Modi in the wee hours today visited Valley to celebrate Diwali with the forces, he was joined by Army Chief General Bipin Rawat who was camping in the Gurez sector since Wednesday.

Pertinently, Modi has been celebrating Diwali with forces every year after he took over as the Prime Minister of India.

In 2014, he celebrated Diwali with forces at Siachen.
In 2015, PM Modi celebrated Diwali with jawans in Amritsar at Dogra war memorial.

In 2016, Modi celebrated Diwali with ITBP jawans in Himachal Pradesh. And this year, he celebrated Diwali with jawans in Gurez sector along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
