Srinagar Aug 03: Young Congress face from J&K Salman Nizami has got life threatening over his tweet wherein he had said ‘BJP says terrorists have no religion; but why u hanged a Muslim, when a Hindu with same crime got life Imprisonment? : the second tweet reads ; “@nsitharaman should first tell when shud we expect hanging of the RSS, Hindu terrorist involved in Gujarat riots, Ajmer blast, MeccaMasjid blast. The third tweet reads: Maya Kodnani accused of killing 300 muslims ws granted bail; Yakub accused of funding brother’s terrorist group ws hanged. #CommunalJudges.
The fourth tweet reads: The killers of Rajiv Gandhi & Beant Singh have backing of political parties in Tamil Nadu &Punjab. Yakub had no political backing ! The fifth tweet reads: Crowd cheering bharat mata ki jai, aache din aagyai, Musalmano ko khatam karo outside nagpur jail ! Modi’s actual mission exposed ?. The fifth tweet reads: I am a true Indian, I am a true Muslim; I demand justice for my people. Hang all those Hindu terrorists who r behind Babri Masjid attack. In reply to the tweets, Salman got a threatening tweet from this twitter handle Saffron @bitty_bajar: @Salman_nizami why don’t u ppl leave India and go to pakistan? You traitors!! The day is not far when people like you will be killed by Hindu terrorist in Jammu. And soon Salman was rained with abusive and threating tweets. say no to renault @vpwildside @Salman_nizami no Hindu has ever indulged in terrorism … And never will.. Terrorism has only one religion “ISLAM”.
However twitter management are currently trying to track down this person, and hopefull this man is identified and punished quickly. Meanwhile more than one thousand criminal incidents on social media, including Twitter and Facebook, are being reported to police every day in India. Supreme Court has however made a verdict to struck down the 66A of Inofrmation Technology Act that had empowered police to arrest any person for posting an ‘objectionable’ text or liking any ‘objectionable’ post. But there are still different sections through which a people issuing threat, or texting any objectionable post can be booked. “There have been a number of successful prosecutions against people posting offensive and abusive messages, said a senior police officer.
He added: “There is a responsibility on police and internet providers to protect people online. Anyone who feels that they are being harassed on social media should report it to the police via the Cyber Cell so that we can investigate it fully.”
