Ruling PDP MLAs holds Iftaar party in Poonch for 200 orphans

Jammu | July 3 : Acting on the instruction of chief minister,Mehbooba Mufti, PDP MLAs Altaf bukahri and Shah Mohammad Tantray hosted iftaar for more than two hundred orphans of Nariniketan , Balashram and others educational institutions at Dakbanglow Poonch on Saturday evening.

Besides MLAs, senior officers from district adminstration were present in the iftaar.




“The basic purpose behind hosting iftaar is to show love & care for these beautiful children who unfortunatelyas have been deprived of love of their parents,” PDP MLA from Poonch-Haveli said.
While interacting with them, the legislators advised the students to work hard as it has no substitute and asked them to study well, achieve something great in life and also earn recognition as responsible and productive citizen of the society.

The MLAs said that the govt will ensure a safe and secure environment for orphans to enable them to achieve meaningful and bright future and in this context the govt is pursuing various schemes and measures for overall welfare of orphans.

On the occasion, Mr.Bukhari called for collective efforts and support of the society to alleviate the suffering and distress of orphans and added that it is the sincere efforts which helped them achieve desired goals of their lives.


The MLAs also told the students that education is the only tool which can break the vicious circle of poverty and make them self- reliant and the objective of the govt is to provide a similar kind of environment and facilities as children in more advantageous circumstances get.

Pertinent to mention here that the iftaar was hosted on the special instruction of the Hona’ble Chief Minister.

Later special arrangement were made for the invitees to offer Maghreb prayers.
