SRINAGAR: The government Friday appointed Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Chatt as chairman of Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE).
According to a government communication, Prof. Chatt assumed the charge today.
He has served in the department of Higher Education for over 33 years, the order said.
Before taking the office, he was serving as Nodal Principal, Amar Singh College in Srinagar.
Prof. Chatt has headed prestigious higher education institutions of the state, including Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar, Govt. Degree College, Bemina, Govt. Degree College, Anantnag.
He is an expert in Assurance of Quality in Higher Education and has remained associated with National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) as peer team member for the assessment and accreditation of Higher Education Institutions.
