Previous Government did not do enough on infrastructure front :Dr Hina Shafi Bhat

Srinagar, June 17: A delegation of French Embassy, led by Sophie Gowthier Counselor Political strategic Affairs and Romain Otal second counsellor today called upon J&K KVIB vice Chairperson, Dr Hina Shafi Bhat to have first hand review of the social and political situation in Kashmir valley.

 

Dr Hina Shafi Bhat said that previous Government did not do enough on infrastructural front as they concentrated focus mostly on vote bank politics.

 

“Since last 70 years the government in Jammu and Kashmir remained focus on the vote bank politics and did not give adequate attention to infrastructural development in the state.The infrastructure at schools,  colleges hospitals and other important department is in the bad shape,” Dr Hina Shafi Bhat told French Embassy, adding that the focus of the government should be on the things and issues that change life of common people.

 

She asserted that the political leaders talk about violence, militancy and other irrelevant issues, but they never talked about half widows and their problems.

 

On assembly elections in the state,Dr Hinna Shafi said that election commission of India has to take the final call,but it would be based on the situation in J&K.

 

“All these years, elections in Jammu and Kashmir were carried by exploiting aspirations of the common common people.Mainstream political parties in connivance with separatists were habitual of fooling people, but we want clean and fair elections to keep democracy alive,” she said.

 

While discussing the fate of BJP in Kashmir Dr Hina Bhat said the BJP will certainly win seats in J&K as it has emerged as one of the most admiring mainstream parties of the state.
