Police Use Tear Gas To Disperse Shiite Mourners In Summer Capital Of J&K

Security forces used tear gas to disperse Shiite mourners in Kashmir capital Srinagar earlier today.

According to sources, mourners defied restrictions and somehow managed to reach Jahangir Chowk from Shaheed Gunj area of the city in a procession today afternoon.

After reaching the Jahangir chowk police and paramilitary forces used heavy tear gas shelling to disperse them.

Meanwhile, all the roadways which are connecting  Lal Chowk have been sealed to prevent Shiite processions and protests over the death of a Kashmiri trucker killed in Udhampur petrol bomb attack.

Pertinently,  Earlier IGP Kashmir Syed Javid Mujtaba Geelani did’nt allow the muharram processions
