In order to monitor the implementation of the Public Service Guarantee Act, the Additional Secretary GAD, Subash Chilbber on the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah, visited district Shopian.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mr. Nasir Ahmad Nakash who is also District Nodal Officer and various officers of the district administration were present during the review meeting. The Officers from various department of district Shopian were present in the meeting. In this connection a meeting was held here today in District Administrative Complex Shopian, to review the implementation of the services of Public Service Guarantee Act. The additional Secretary GAD, impressed upon all the concerned designated officers appellate authorizes to ensure compliance with the requirements under the act/rules and adherence to the time lines that the objective of its proper and effective implementation on ground is achieved.
He said 70 services provided by the government departments and agencies have been brought under the ambit of Public Guarantee Act. He said the act provide for time bound delivery of services on receiving a complaint adding that any functionary has failing to comply with the rule of the act would be liable to penalization. He said that the act has not only improved delivery of services covered by the act but also help in enforcing accountability of the officer of these departments.
