SRINAGAR: MLA Wachi Aijaz Ahmed Mir along with Chief Engineer PDD Bashir Ahmed Khan took stock of the prevailing power scenario in the Wachi constituency.
They visited receiving stations Reshipora and Pinjoora. The Turqawangam feeder which comes under the Reshipora receiving station was bifurcation to lessen the load. Some 15 villages were bifurcated from Reshipora receiving station and they were accordingly included under Pinjoora receiving station.

“The move will not only lessen the load on one receiving station, but will give a relief to the large populace from the uninterrupted power supply,” Aijaz Ahmed Mir said. Besides, new receiving station will be set up in Imam Sahab Trenz area for which the location will be soon identified, MLA Wachi said.
Once this receiving station is completed, it will solve the power crisis in the constituency,” the MLA said.
During the extensive tour, people apprised the MLA about their problems pertaining to electricity. The villages in the constituency which are metered will get the electricity at par with other metered areas, while the non-metered areas will get the electricity according to the prevailing schedule. Also a separate transformer workshop will be set up in Wachi so that the quick and timely repairing of transformers will be done for the relief of the local people.
