Srinagar, May 14(KNB): Police has registered a FIR after a video of Army Sepoy Dilhair Mushtaq Sofi surfaced on social media.
According to a statement issued to Kashmir News bureau, police said that the missing report of Sepoy Sofi, who belongs to 29RR, was lodged on March 11, 2025. However, the case took a new turn when a video showing Sofi appeared on social media.
The video was verified by Sofi’s father and uncle, prompting the police to register FIR No. 75/2025 under Sections 197(d), 152 BNS at Police Station Ganderbal.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Sofi was involved in online gambling and had accumulated debts exceeding Rs. 10 lakh. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.(KNB)
