Mir expresses grief over damaged caused to farmers due to hailstorm

Appeals Govt to compensate them

Srinagar, Jun 16 : Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former agriculture minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Thursday asked state dispensation to provide compensation to the farmers whose fruits and other things got damaged by hailstorm in north Kashmir on last evening.
While expressing grief over the loss of farmers due to the hailstorm in several areas including Rafiabad, Tangmarg, Baramulla and others, Mir said the state govt should depute teams to these areas to access the damage caused by hailstorm on last evening.




He said that the farmers and fruit growers suffered a huge loss due to the hailstorm. “I appeal the state government to redress the sufferings of farmers and fruit growers who suffered tremendous loss due to hailstorm and heavy rains in the district so that they could feel a sigh of relief,” he said.
