Militants on Thursday night gave slip to army during a brief encounter at Reshi Muqam village in Kandi area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police official told GNS that army’s 47 RR search party was fired upon by the militants at Reshi Muqam village of Kandi in the frontier district at around 9:35 pm last night. “The fire was retaliated triggering off a brief gunfight”.
After a brief gunfight, the group of militants managed to escape while taking advantage of darkness, the official said.
Meanwhile, army’s 47 RR along with additional reinforcement have launched massive searches in the adjoining villages and the nearby forest area to nab the militants.
