Srinagar: Just a day after The Kashmir Scenario reported that Mufti Muhammad Sayed may give way to her daughter as the Chief Minister of J&K, Mufti Sayeed on Friday while praising her daughter said she is better connected with the people and deserves to be the chief minister of the state.
Replying to questions by reporters during a presser in Jammu, Mufti said after government formation, he did not get time to meet people.
“She (Mehbooba) has better access to the people and party workers than me and she understands their problems. So she deserves it (to be chief minister),” Mufti said.
“I only sit in the office but she works in the field,” he said.
Mufti in his replies gave credibility to the rumours that Mehbooba will replace his father to head the coalition.
“As far as Mehbooba’s anointment is concerned, it would be a collective decision (of BJP and PDP).”
“She is president of PDP, works hard in the field, represents a constituency in Lok Sabha, became Member of state assembly first time in 1996, so she deserves all this,” he said.
