Malik Sameed
Srinagar, April 10 (KNB): At a time when everyone around the world is pitching for the safety of frontline warriors against Covid-19 -healthcare professionals- in Kashmir they are involved in screenings of suspected cases without adequate personnel protection gears and safety equipment like N95 masks, PVC coated gowns and goggles.
A medical professional on condition of anonymity told KNB that they are vulnerable of getting infectious of Covid 19 at the screening points due to lack of basic safety gears.
They added that PPE kits were initially provided to the screening teams that were posted at the airport but those medical teams posted at the National Highway near Jawahar Tunnel were not provided with any such safety gears.
When interstate transport is shut, the medical teams at these places screen truck drivers and others who after completing quarantine period in Jammu enter Kashmir. (KNB)
