Srinagar 03 February (KNB): The mercury across the Valley relieved the people following the rise in temperature in different parts of Kashmir on Tuesday night, with Srinagar recording -0.4 degree Celsius.

The temperature saw improvement as the light snowfall, predicted to start in Kashmir from Tuesday night by a weather forecaster, was recorded in light depth on Wednesday morning throughout the valley.

However, the Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Qazigund, Kokernag, Kupwara, Anantnag , Budgam, Leh, Kargil and Dras  recorded the temperature as -3.9°C, -5.2°C, -4.5°C, -1.3°C, -2.8°C, -0.6°C, -11°C, -16°C and -21.1°C respectively.

Pertinently, the respite in temperature last night, particularly in Srinagar, was witnessed for the first time post-Chillai Kalan of this winter. (KNB)
