LeT pays tributes to slain Hizb Commander

Srinagar, June 29: Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) on Wednesday paid rich tribute to Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Sameer Ahmad Wani who died in a gunfight with forces in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.

In a statement to news agency Global News Service (GNS), the spokesman of the outfit Dr Abdullah Gaznavi quoting LeT chief Mehmood Shah as saying; “No matter how much force or technology Government of India (GoI) will use, the struggle for freedom will continue till its logical end”.




Without naming India, he said that the country is bound to be insulted across the globe, apparently referring to alleged insult to tri-colour by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mehmood Shah also expressed gratitude to the people of Kashmir for turning up in large numbers in the funeral prayers of the militants.

Sameer Wani, a resident of Dooru Sopore died in an encounter with government forces at Nagri village in Kupwara district on Tuesday morning.
