Scores of Kupwara residents Friday took to streets to demand a probe into the death of a Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher who was found dead in Armpora area of Qamarwari in Srinagar yesterday,
The protesters alleged that 35-year-old Javid Ahmad Khan, a resident of Khan Mohalla Krusan in Lolab area of frontier district of Kupwara, was murdered.
“There were torture marks on his body, his eyes were damaged by blades and there was a rope tied around his neck,” said the protesters who staged a demonstration in Krusan village.
“We want a thorough probe into the incident and the culprits should be brought to the book,” the protesters demanded.
Khan is survived by 11 family members including four children, wife, mother and a widowed sister-in -law and her children.
Khan, who recently lost his brother and father, was the sole source of income for the family.
