Police on Thursday said that an auto-rickshaw was set ablaze by unidentified persons in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
“Today evening miscreants, in order to discourage the public transport from plying, set ablaze an Auto Rickshaw belonging to Farooq Ahmad Sheikh resident of Doonipawa, Anantnag on K P Road near Al Sarwat Crossing under jurisdiction of Police Station Mattan, Anantnag,” said a spokesman.
Due to timely action by police fire was brought under control, he said.
An FIR under relevant sections of Law has been registered at Police Station Mattan to identify and arrest the culprits .
