Asking Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) to get ready’, graffiti on shop shutters at Lal Chowk and other places appeared this morning. The graffiti are believed to have been drawn during the intervening night of March 14 and 15. However, authorities are clueless as to who could be behind the activity.
“Graffiti reading ‘JKP we are coming’ could be seen on shop shutters”, eye witnesses told KNS. “Policemen were immediately put on duty to rub the graffiti”, they added.
Though senior police officers refused to officially comment over the issue but one of the senior officer told KNS on the condition of anonymity that agitated youth could have drawn the graffiti. “But we’re right now clueless over the issue”.
When asked what the graffiti could be intended to convey, he said, “It can also be a mere joke. But real threat cannot be ruled out either. We’re looking at every angle”, he said.
Pertinently, graffiti appeared on walls when all localities were under strict curfew, restricting people to stay inside.
