Srinagar: Young Journalists Celebrated 2nd Anniversary of JKYJA Srinagar, Mar 5 (KMW): A high level meeting of The Jammu and Kashmir Young Journalist Association (JKYJA) was held to celebrate 2nd anniversary of its foundation at central office, Srinagar. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Ajaz Ahmad War.
The meeting was attended by the members of association who lauded the role of JKYJA, President. Pertinent to mention here that the aforesaid young journalist’s body came into being on March 5, 2012 with the aim to make journalism more impartial and healthily and to uphold the golden principles of journalism. Mr. Ajaz said that the Association has always worked to address the burning problems faced by the media fraternity particularly the young media professionals who usually face tough times at the start of their career and to raise awareness of the importance of freedom of the press and remind governments of their duty to respect and uphold the right to freedom of expression enshrined under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The JKYJA organized number of intellectual sessions and programmes to highlight the problems of young journalists of Kashmir. Ajaz Ahmad War, President JKYJA stated “We are very much contended with the performance of JKYJA as it has since its foundation tried its level best to champion the cause of browbeaten journalists of Jammu and Kashmir. We would be launching a statewide membership drive to involve entire young journalist fraternity in our fold.
