J&K Shines In Kickboxing Again

Srinagar, Jan 03 (KNB): In recently held kickboxing championship from 27th to 31st December 2017 at Patliputra indoor stadium Patna Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir team bagged three gold, five silver and six bronze medals. This championship was organized by Kickboxing Federation of India and teams from all over India participated in this event.




Master Faisal Ali, kickboxing coach, while talking to Kashmir News Bureau said that “it’s indeed a proud moment for all Kashmir, despite our children living in such harsh climate conditions wherethey can hardly practice, they end up winning gold and silver medals.

Children are very passionate about playing and winning otherwise travelling from Kashmir to Bihar and then playing next day, getting accustomed to the food ,climate, people and winning gold is almost difficult, but our children are very much talented which they are proving time and again. He further added that better facilities should be provided to our children so that they can even practice in cold conditions and prove their mettle”.

In this championship 55 children participated from Jammu and Kashmir in which 13 were girls and 42 were boys and the team won 14 medals in total.

Waheed ul Rehman Parra (Secretary J & K State sports council) while talking to Kashmir News Bureau said that “our children are very talented and all they need is exposure of the outside world and we are doing every possible thing to groom our children in a better way so that they can play well and our government is building infrastructure to ensure that our children do not lag behind”.




Pertinently, Three gold medal players Miss Rabiya Riyaz, Miss Abroo Bashir (Bandipora Kashmir) and Mr Hardick Chopra (Jammu) will be representing India at World kickboxing championship that will be held at Argentina in November 2018 (KNB).
