Srinagar 16 May (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir saw the second highest number of persons testing positive in one day spike for coronavirus on Saturday. A total of 44 new cases were reported with the total number of patients climbing to 1092. One death recorded on Saturday. A Budgam man who was admitted in SKIMS Soura succumbed to the infection.
According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau, forty four new COVID-positive cases in J&K, including twelve pregnant women were recorded in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. One death was also reported from Chadoora Budgam after he complained of uneasiness due to heart problem.
According to SKIMS Officials twenty-seven persons tested positive for the disease at viral diagnostic lab of the tertiary care hospital including ten from Jammu all travellers, twelve from Kupwara, three from Anantnag and one each from Baramulla and Budgam.
Moreover, out of 1002 tests conducted at Microbiology Lab of CD Hospital Srinagar seventeen including 12 pregnant women from Anantnag, one traveler from Delhi and three from Kulgam
As of now, a total of 1092 cases are confirmed in the union territory Jammu and Kashmir with 489 cases active, 12 deaths and 513 recoveries so far.(KNB)
