Srinagar, Dec 05 (KNB): Yesteryear militant commander and Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Haqeeqi) Javaid Ahmad Mir has reportedly parted ways from Hurriyat Conference after he submitted a resignation letter to amalgam, last week. The resignation according to party sources was submitted by Chairman over the ideological differences.
According to party sources, JKLF (H) Chief Javaid Ahmad Mir who recently went through both eye surgeries has officially tendered his resignation over the ideological issues with the conglomerate. The party sources added that the party under the leadership of Javaid Mir would continue its peaceful efforts to take the movement to its logical conclusion.
Pertinent to mention here, in 1993 JKLF a founding constituent of Hurriyat Conference played an important role in its formation, however, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (R) had a split after Javaid Ahmad Mir found a new transition with the name JKLF (Haqeeqi) in 2012. This was the second split in the group JKLF. Earlier Mir along with Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bitta Karatay had parted ways from Muhammad Yasin Malik and created the group JKLF (R).
Pertinently, Javaid Ahmad Mir is among the first who waged an armed war with the Indian forces in 1988 under the banner of HAJY group which later turned JKLF. Like other members of HAJY group, Mir was also a household name in the trouble-torn state in 90’s decade. Mir was among the early batches of the Kashmir youth who crossed the Line of Control for arms training in the initial years of movement for the freedom of Kashmir.
Meanwhile confirming the reports of Mir’s resignation, JKLF (H) General Secretary Ghulam Mustafa Bhat while talking with Kashmir News Bureau, lauded leadership qualities of Javaid Mir and said the resignation will not break our resolve, we will continue express resentment against human rights violations in Kashmir and to attract to attract attention of International Community towards Kashmir dispute.
