At Its 5th Anniversary, Funtoosh Campaigns For No To ‘Acid Attacks On Girls’

Srinagar : As a part of activities related to culture, art, drama, music being projected as heritage of the State, a scintillating function was held at Convocation Complex of Kashmir University today tilled “ Khyber Funtoosh- Jashen-i-Chiliakalan”. Funtoosh which celebrated its 5th anniversary of Jashne Chillai kalaan, enthralls around 2,500 people who on sunday attended the event.

The event was organized by a famous kashmiri entertainment and event management group, Funtoosh under timecode productions. The event began with a colorful play wherein the message was ‘stop acid attacks on girls’. Other items included theatre plays and standup comedy delivered in honour and satirical manner leading the audience enjoy at its best. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Asgar Hasan Samoon was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The event was inaugurated by Bashir Arif, Former Deputy Director General Radio Kashmir. Farooq Ahmad Lone (Deputy Commissioner Srinagar), Ex- Education Minister, Naeem Akhtar and Waheed ur Rehman Parra (Youth president and Spokesperson of Peoples Democratic Party) were also present on the occasion.

“The goal of organizing such events for last 5 years has been to promote our rich culture and language amd its a proud feeling that people are appreciating us, said Abrar Ali,organiser. Our events also intend to provide a platform to the young and budding artists of the state, said Sibath Qureshi, another organizer said.

Team Funtoosh on the occasion also raised the curtain for conducting weekly theatre at Tagore Hall starting soon. Funtoosh under Timecode Event Management Company in the state has organized versatile events in last 5 years. The group comprising of 4 young professionals; Sibath Qureshi, Rayees Mohi ud din, Shehla Arif and Abrar Ali were the organisers and brain behind this event.
