Jammu Muslims face dual threat: Nayeem Khan; condemns arrest spree in Kishtwar

Strongly condemning the arrest spree in Kishtwar, senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan today said that arresting people and even Imam’s of mosques for raising their voice has rippled the tall claims of the so called Indian democracy. It has also put a question mark on the politics of pro-India politicians.Condemning the arrest of Saif-ud-Din Bagwan, Firdous Ahmed Bagwan and Imam Molvi Abdul Qayoom Mattoo, all residents of Umar Mohalla, Kishtwar, Nayeem Ahmad Khan in a statement expressed concern over the plight of Chenab valley Muslims.“The Muslim population of Chinab valley and Pir Panchal regions is facing dual threat,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said adding “one threat comes from the anti-Muslim authorities and another from Hindu fascist forces.” However, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that Muslims of Jammu region have the full backing of valleyists.”He strongly condemned the imposition of curfew in Kishtwar and said that restrictions are meant to harass the Muslim population of the region. “On one hand Hindu fascists openly parade in Jammu areas waving weapons and they are being protected like VIP’s and on the other if Muslims raise their voice in a democratic way they are arrested under draconian laws and harassed by imposing curfew.”Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that killings, arrests, ransacking, beating unarmed people including women and children and jailing whole population are different faces of the so called Indian democracy.
He said that Indian tyranny has crossed all limits and arrests and damaging property of common freedom loving people is a well planned state terrorism of India which is being executed by the collaboration of its paid agents to crush the ongoing resistance movement.Nayeem Ahmad Khan reiterated that instead of harassing pro freedom people, India should rein its forces and take concrete steps for resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He said that Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved by using draconian laws like PSA or use of brute forces against the peaceful people.
