The highest body of lawyers in Kashmir the Bar Association is in disarray and this was evident today when senior General Secretary Advocate B.A.Khan resigned from the election board membership over what he termed the dictatorial attitude of election board Chairman A.R.Keng.
As a matter of fact, MR.A.R.Keng had taken an unilateral decision to ask the lawyers to abstain from work today over NIA Summon to Yaseen Khan, KTMF president .
But, he is said to have taken the decision without any consultation .
“Bar has been reduced to a fiefdom of personnel interests and their is lack of democracy in the Bar and despite we being opressed it is a matter of shame that such important organization is in complete mess. The decision to suspend work today was taken in a dictatorial manner without consultation. It is sad what we have done to bar,” stated a senior lawyer.
