Authorities today foiled Hurriyat Conference headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s ‘HMT Chalo’ call by imposing restrictions in parts of City including downtown while clashes broke out at several places leaving 4 people including policeman injured.
Geelani had called on people to March towards the house of Gowhar Nazir Dar, an Engineering student, who was killed by government forces last week after firing teargas shell on his head
According to GNS Correspondent, the restrictions were imposed in areas falling under MR Gunj, Khanyar, Maisuma, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Parimpora, Maisuma and Safakadal areas. Hundreds of paramilitary and police personal were deployed across these areas to prevent any kind of protest march.
