Govt refutes media reports;

“Never said schools to remain open in winters”



Srinagar, Nov 28 : Government Monday refuted the media reports wherein it was stated that schools in Kashmir would remain open in winters.

However, it clarified that winter schooling would be optional and not mandatory for students.
“The reports that schools would remain open during winters are not true. We have not made any such decision till date,” Director School Education Kashmir, Ajiaz Ahmad Bhat told KNS over phone.
Bhat added that authorities will establish winter schooling for higher secondary classes but clarified

“To attended classes during winters in schools will not be mandatory for students but optional.”
He added that department will also establish super fifty coaching centre at selected places in every district.




Bhat added that department is working to provide quality education to the students.
“The department is taking all measures to improve and provide quality education to students. The measures are being taken in both academic and co-curricular activities,” he informed. (KNS)
