Gunmen identified, efforts on to nab killers: Police

Srinagar, Mar 13 : The unidentified gunmen on Monday killed a former sarpanch in Kakapora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said.


Police said that the former sarpanch identified as Fayaz Ahmad son of Abdul Khaliq resident of Kakapora was kidnapped by the unidentified gunmen from his residence in the wee hours of this morning.

They further said that they recovered a body at Chew Kalan area in Pulwama district. “The body was later on identified as of Fayaz Ahmad son of Abdul Khaliq resident of Kakapora. He was kidnapped by gunmen from his house early this morning, and later shot dead,” police said.

Police said that they have also registered FIR and started investigations into his killing.

“We have also identified the gunmen involved in this crime and efforts are on to nab the killers,” police in an official statement said. (KNS)
