After Floods, People in Chadoora Grapple With damaged bridge

Srinagar:  The people of chadoora Kashmir, who are still grappling with the devastating effects of the flood in September, now have a new problem to contend with.

A newly constructed bridge of Tehsil Chadoora connecting thousands of people from Nagam, Chari-Sherif  to  Srinagar completely damages due to recent flood. Meanwhile  Authority has  already declared Unsafe for transport and  other business purpose.

“We take an alternative way to reach our place due to damaged bridge safely, I request concern authority to find out the legal way to improve the damaged bridge, so that we can move safely, “Says Mohammad Shafi, a local resident.

People in Chadoora feel that the Department has failed to honor the promise of improving the damaged bridge  and the delay in the government formation is only increasing their resentment.

When contacted Executive Engineer  R&B Division Chadoora “said bridge is unsafe for transportation DPR has been submitted to higher authorities as soon as funds will be released, the job will be taken up on the Priority basis.
