Fake IAS Officer and Accomplice Denied Bail by CJM Budgam for Defrauding Job Seeker

Budgam 01 Nov(KNB): In a recent development, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Budgam, Noor Mohammad Mir, has rejected the bail application of a fake IAS officer and her accomplice. The two individuals, Ayush Koul (35), wife of Manmohan Ganju, residing in Raj Bagh Srinagar, and Burhan Bashir (25), son of Bashir Ahmad Shah, residing in Bemina Srinagar, had applied for bail. They were arrested by Budgam police for defrauding a person by promising to secure a job for his son.

CJM Budgam explained that the accused had been involved in serious, heinous, and non-bailable offenses and, therefore, did not merit bail. He noted that the investigation of the case was in its early stages, and there was a risk that the accused might influence prosecution witnesses to withhold vital information. Moreover, if released on bail, they could potentially interfere with the ongoing investigation. Consequently, the bail application was deemed meritless and rejected.

The case against the duo was registered under FIR number 302 of 2023 at Police Station Budgam. They are accused of committing offenses under sections 420, 419, and 120-B/IPC.(KNB)
