Protests against Army’s ill behavior towards civilians

September: AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed was today prevented from visiting Devar Lolab on his way to meet the family of Manzoor Ahmad Khan, allegedly disappeared in Army custody few days back.
A heavy contingent of police detained Er. Rasheed near Wawoora and took him into custody and deported him back. However before deporting him back, Er. Rasheed lodged a strong protest along with hundreds of civilians outside Khumriyal army camp, against army’s ill mannered behavior towards civilians. On the occasion he asked army authorities not to humiliate locals in the name of checking their identity cards. Er. Rasheed asked Army Officers to focus on finding the missing youth Manzoor Ahmad Khan rather trying to divert the issue and suppress the voice of masses. Later protest was called off after army officers assured Er. Rasheed of not creating unnecessary hurdles in the movement of vehicles and masses.
Later Er. Rasheed was deported back to Handwara by the police.
