Education Department Refutes Allegations Regarding JKBOSE Class 10 Exam Forms

Srinagar 16 Dec(KNB): In response to news item alleging that JKBOSE refused to accept class 10 examination forms from students enrolled in private schools established on state land, the Education Department has vehemently denied these assertions.

In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB that, The article suggested that private schools were being denied registration, which the department clarified as misleading and devoid of any factual basis.

Officials clarified that there hasn’t been any denial of registration to private schools or their students appearing in examinations within their jurisdiction. The registration procedures for private schools strictly adhere to established guidelines and regulations, aiming to foster a positive educational environment.

However, the Education Department emphasized that certain legal modalities, particularly under S.O. 177 of 2022, require school authorities to provide a land title certificate or lease deed for schools’ establishment. Failure to produce these documents might result in the de-recognition of schools and the assumption of management by the authorities.

Challenges to these provisions were brought before the Hon’ble High Court of J&K and Ladakh by several school authorities, leading to diverse court directions, including maintaining the status quo, statement added.

Highlighting the department’s commitment to students’ academic well-being, they cited instances from the past where concerns about student registrations were addressed through legal avenues. The Hon’ble High Court allowed affected students to be tagged with other educational institutions for exams, safeguarding their academic careers while legal proceedings continued.

Addressing the current issue, the Education Department assured that it will safeguard students’ academic futures, ensuring no student is barred from exams due to registration issues. They affirmed their dedication to upholding the rule of law and complying with court directives to safeguard students’ academic pursuits, they further said in a statement.(KNB)
