District President DPAP Shoaib Lone Condemns Unjust Water Supply Cut to Mirangund-Nowpora Villages

Will go on Mass Agitation if PHE Fails to Provide Water Supply: Lone

Baramulla 06 Jan: District President DPAP and ex MLA Shoaib Lone expressed deep concern and condemnation over the abrupt cutting down of water supply to Mirangund and Nowpora Villages, allegedly to benefit another village associated with a political leader.

In a statement issue here, Lone highlighted that the water supply to Mirangund Nowpora Villages originates from the Shrunz Fall, yet it has been unlawfully diverted to favor a specific village, violating established regulations and neglecting the rightful access of Nowpora and Mirangund residents to this essential resource.

“While we advocate for fair and adequate water distribution across villages, the unjustified diversion and deprivation of water supply to these villages is unacceptable,” stated Lone.

Expressing DPAP’s stance, Lone emphasized, “We do not oppose providing water supply to other village, but the act of diverting and cutting off water supply to Mirangund and Nowpora is fundamentally unjust and unacceptable.”

“Both villages boast substantial populations, comprising numerous families reliant on their water supply for survival,” lone further said.

Lone urged PHE Department to urgently intervene and rectify this situation by reinstating the rightful water supply to these Villages. Failure to address this issue promptly may lead to DPAP initiating mass agitation as a form of protest against this discriminatory action.
