DC Shopian keeps close vigil on the situation

 

SHOPIAN, APRIL 24 (KNB): The District Administration, Shopian has termed the news report circulated by the Global News Service (GNS) is as baseless and distortion of facts.

According to the DC office, Shopian, the Deputy Commissioner, Shopian is closely monitoring the situation and has visited the Covid-19 affected Heerpora village a number of times to take stock of the situation and to facilitate the people with better health care facilities.

The Health functionaries are working with dedication to provide better treatment to the Covid-19 affected patients of the village.

The people of the area have appreciated the Deputy Commissioner for providing timely help and health care facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner urged the people of the area to co-operate with the District administration and Health department and not to heed rumors reassuring them that the district administration is fully prepared to provide every possible help to the residents of red zones at their doorsteps.

He added that said out of 8 red zones , 2 have been converted into yellow zones and out of 55 positive cases , 11 Covid-19 positive cases have recovered so far while 800 samples have been taken for testing. He said that presently, 44 active cases of Covid-19 in the district out of which 38 cases are from village Heerpora alone.

The DC Shopian said that Heerpora is the main focus of district administration and the village has been completed sealed and the essentials have already been provided to the locals.

The D C further added that adequate Sahur and Iftar arrangements have been made at all quarantine centres of the district. (KNB)
