Covid19: Stranded Kashmiris in Dubai Seeks Evacuation

Srinagar, May 16(KNB): Aimed to pandemic hundreds of Kashmiri, who are stranded in different Gulf Countries urges the Government of India and authorities of UT of Jammu and Kashmir to evacuate them as they have been going through “tough times” and are helpless due to the suspension of international flights in view of Covid-19.

As per the reports more than 1000 Kashmiri’s including labours, employees, patients families etc from different parts of valley are stranded in Dubai, UAE and Gulf Countries from last two months followed by nationwide lockdown on March 25th also suspension all public transport including National and International flights to prevent spread of COVID-19 in the country.

However, from the past few days the JK administration is trying hard to bring back their inhabitants from different parts of the country as well as from different countries like Bangladesh, but people stocked in Gulf Countries are still waiting.
Rameez Raja a resident of Bemina Srinagar told Kashmir News Bureau, “we are facing tremendous problem here even we don’t have any work now as everything is closed here”

“I am working here from last many years but things are different now, so appealing to authorities of UT of JK to evacuate as” he added

Another stranded Mohammad Asfraf Bahat from Basantbagh said, “We have already registered over selves, but there is not mention any flight for the stranded persons from Jammu and Kashmir in Dubai and other parts which is unfortunate as other states and UTs have already mentioned the flights for their residents .
Government of India should arrange flights us as well we also the citizens of the country like anthers”(KNB)
