Inspects Red Zones, COVID Hospital, Wellness Centres
BANDIPORA, JUNE 08: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora Ravinder Kumar on Monday appealed to the people of the district to strictly adopt precautionary measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.
He said this while interacting with the people at different places in the district. He said the use of masks has become very important in the current scenario besides maintain other health hygiene and social distancing. He said the precautionary measures are the only solution to break the chain of spread of virus. He said the situation may go out of hands if the people does not adopt the precautionary measures as witnesses in some parts of the country.
Ravinder Kumar said advisories have been issued from time to time to the public to use masks and now it appears expedient to reiterate those directions in the interest of health of general public. He said the COVID19 pandemic has brought to the fore the importance of use of masks to contain spread of corona virus.
DC Bandipora inspected the implementation of prohibitory orders in Red Zones of Ward-05, Ward -6 in Bandipora town and Ahamsharief village. He directed the law enforcing agencies to strictly implement the restriction orders in Red Zones and also appealed the people to stay indoors for their own safety. He said the administration will ensure availability of essentials at their doorsteps till the restrictions are in place in these areas.
Mr Kumar was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Tehsildar Bandipora Rouf Iqbal, SHO Bandipora Mir Saleem, Nodal officers of various quarantine centres and other senior officers of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited COVID Wellness Centres established at International Delhi Public School Kaloosa and Mehboob-ul-Alam College of Education Kaloosa. He inspected the facilities made available in the hospital besides the other medical arrangements. He said the COVID positive patients with no symptoms ashall be refered to these wellness centres. He said there are 700 beds available in the district for the asymptomatic positive patients in different wellness centres of the district.
Later the deputy commissioner inspected COVID-Level-II hospital established at Maternity Hospital Pazalpora. He interacted with the medical staff and urged them to ensure every possible medical facility to the patients admitted in the hospital. He also urged the medical staff to take every precautionary measures while dealing with the patients so as to keep themselves safe. DC Bandipora said there 250 beds available in COVID Level-II hospitals wherein the COVID positive patients with mild symptoms shall be admitted.
He praised the coordinated efforts of various departments in fighting the pandemic that resulted in curbing the spread of the disease in 12 Red Zones of the district. He asked the officers to continue to be alert and advised not to lower guard to win the war against this pandemic.
DC Bandipora directed the frontline workers to continue to be alert as a single mistake can push us back into trouble and urged the people to cooperate with the administration.(KNB)
