Congress for transfer relaxation to NHM Doctors, Paramedics

Expresses concern over their plights



Srinagar Dec 26: A delegation of 24 NHM Doctors and 8 Paramedics serving in Ladakh Division under NHM Scheme called on J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir today and sought his intervention in bringing an end to the miseries confronting them in high altitude and extremely difficult geoclimatic condition in that region( Ladakh).

The delegation informed that two young doctors have lost their precious lives and others posted there were suffering from life threatening symptoms, thereby causing great inconvenience to them.
The delegation appealed Congress President to intervene into the matter and urge upon the State Govt to formulate a Transfer policy for NHM Doctors and Staffers also. This was stated by JKPCC Spokesperson, here today

Reacting to the concerns and genuine demands of NHM Doctors, the spokesperson stated that Congress President (G.A. Mir) has expressed serious concern over the plight of NHM Doctors and asked the Govt to take effective measures to address their concerns. He also referred to Congress President as saying that Doctors should remain available to treat patients, but when the doctors himself remains bedridden, who would care for the patients especially in far flung area of the State, he said.

The Spokesperson said that NHM Doctors can discharge their legitimate duties at their respective Districts headquarter also and at other places where they (doctors) would be able to treat the patients without any kind of inconvenience, as that will ensure the smooth implementation of NHM Scheme, in far off and other places in the State.

The Spokesperson added that every individual whether he or she is a doctor or Patient both needs proper care and attention, so Govt should not ignore the genuine concerns of the serving NHM Doctors and Paramedics, the Spokesperson urged upon the Govt to take effective measures to grant some relaxation to NHM Doctors by devising a transfer policy for them also, as that will enable them to perform their duties towards the poor and down trodden people with interest and dedication.
