Competitive Era-Parent’s Maniac

Aarif Hamdani

Parents brought us, they are the only mentors to embark us on to row a boat of career in our life, but haplessly they have fallen behind. They need to understand that it’s not necessary that their wards would be able to compete with their desires, which they have once settled in their minds. In Kashmir intelligence is judged on the basis of marks and grades you have scored in your school Examinations. If you are 90% holder then it’s good and if 95% holder then its excellent, comparison always fizzles out your determination and hard work behind any score you do.
Our parents fail to understand that talent needs prodding, adversity waters it away and appreciation makes its roots stronger. Parents think intelligence does means KAS officer, intelligence is a degree that can be attained only by cracking MBBS or Engineering seat for them else you are just a trash. Talent is god gifted, it can be sports, studies anything. The matter of fact is what you love to do is your talent. For example, a bookworm cannot be a stalker. God decides everyone’s destiny not parents. Parents cannot go beyond God’s laws, so why did not they change their laws and stop torturing and pressuring their children.
