Srinagar, Dec 11 (KNB): Chief Minister’s super 50 classes that were given green signal  in 2015 by late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, and in the first year of the coaching  an impressive number of students qualified the joint entrance examination (JEE), and prepared  students for various examinations.
This step has been lauded by many as a good initiative to provide free coaching to the meritorious students. This is the first kind of the program which trains a selected number of students for the national level exams without them having to worry about the huge fee structure.

According to the statement issued by the Directorate of school education, these classes having the best faculty that will prepare the students for various competitive exams.
These classes select 50 students from a district on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying exam and then they are given coaching free of cost from the government.

Altaf Bukhari while talking to Media persons said that “Private coaching centers have become money minting machines and it’s an insult for our teachers if students go for private coaching, only some students need extra care and guidance, others can do well without coaching as well, as our teachers are enough competent”.
However there are the other opinions that differ from the ones applauding the same initiative.
“These classes will only train 50 students from a particular area or district and what about the rest, we were more than 150 students in the school and there are many more schools like this, only selecting a few number won’t do away with the problem of coaching centres, if they are serious enough they should think about coming up with more centers and the standard of education also needs to be raised”, said a student who is presently studying in a private coaching centre.
The expert view is that standard of school education needs a change so that the foundation of our students becomes such that we don’t need any kind of extra coaching from the private coaching centers and that will do away with the problem of mushrooming of these centers and a huge amount by parents also need not to be spend on these things.
