SRINAGAR: A top Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani, is not among the militants who are trapped in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, a top official said.
SSP Pulwama Tejinder Singh said that two suspected militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba were trapped in the village where search operation was going on.
He said: “Burhan Wani is not among the suspected militants trapped in the village.”
There were reports that Wani– acknowledged as the youth icon in Kashmir even by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party– was among the militants trapped in the villages.
Singh said we would file a case against those reporting the Wani was among the trapped militants.
