BJP JK MPS call on Modi, discuss political issues

Srinagar, Apr 19 : Amid fresh political uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir, Bhartiya Janta Party’s State MP’s met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

TKS learnt from reliable sources that during the meeting important political events like BJP’s alliance with PDP and current political situation of Jammu and Kashmir was discussed.

“The meeting between state BJP president and MP Jugal Kishore, MoS in PMO office and MP Dr Jitendar Singh, MP Thupstan Chhewang and Modi in Parliament Balayogi Auditorium New Delhi lasted for over 15 minutes,” they said. While BJP leaders termed the meeting as “routine”, sources said during the meeting Prime Minister is learnt to have discussed party’s position with regard to the common minimum program of PDP-BJP alliance, and other political issues of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting assumes significance in the wake of fresh political uncertainty including the rearrested of separatist leader Masrat Alam and killing of a youth. Though sources did not disclose anything on what transpired between the Prime Minister and the MPs, the state leaders said important political events in the Kashmir were discussed.

It is pertinent to mention here that one-day workshop was held at Parliament Balayogi Auditorium in which BJP’s state MPs and top BJP leaders including LK Advani, BJP President Amit Shah, Sushma Swaraj, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu were present.

The Prime Minister also addressed a workshop of BJP MPs on how to take the government’s pro-poor initiatives to the people.
