Srinagar, May 10 (KNB): “I recently visited Bangladesh, the infrastructure there in the government colleges is good, but the infrastructure in private college is rot to say the least. Some of the private MBBS colleges are no better than animal shelters and sheds; the faculty also is much below par. The overall infra and human resource, space available in these Private MBBS colleges is disgusting and simply treachery towards students.
The parents, students should research well while heading to other parts of the world for education,” stated Jaffar Allie, an educator, while talking to the Kashmir News Bureau.
Thousands of students leave Kashmir for different parts of the world to educate themselves in different streams and make their dreams true. On an average, 700 to 800 students leave Kashmir to study MBBS at South Asian country Bangladesh. Stakeholders also say rising living costs and not so impressive infrastructure in Bangladesh complicates things for the Kashmiri students.
A student, while pleading anonymity stated –“The infrastructure here in Bangladesh is very down especially in private colleges. When we compare it to other countries like Russia, China, and Kyrgyzstan and it is nowhere. The students, parents should properly research while undertaking studies outside Kashmir especially in a critical field like MBBS. Bangladesh is not a good option at all.”
Javid Khan, a career expert states –“Amid commercial hubs like Shopping complexes are the small and infra less medical colleges set in Bangladesh, who have zero concept of quality education and lag quality libraries and laboratory.”
With rising number of students leaving Kashmir the monitoring of outside opportunities for students of Kashmir is need of the hour. (KNB)
