In a dismal development, the union youth and sports Ministry on while upgrading the sports related infrastructure and announcing the package for same has called for establishing indoor stadium for Bandipora district at Sumbal,to deep disappointments of people living out there .
While locals of Bandipora talking with Kashmir Scenario said, that despite producing international champions like Tajamul, Hashim in indoor sports like Kick Boxing and Karate by the Bandipora town and it’s vicinity the indoor stadium was strangely awarded to Sumbal where no culture of playing indoor sports is seen. This has surprised and shocked many.
Faisal Ali, a sports person states -“It is matter of deep anguish for us that Indoor stadium is being allowed to Sumbal while sidelining the Bandipora town and it’s adjoining area. It makes no sense to have indoor stadium in an area which has no culture or history of playing indoor stadium and ignoring that area which is full of such sports personalities.”
Masses are calling on concerned authorities to relook into the decision.
