Poonch, June 8 (KNB): An army soldier allegedly shot himself dead at Balnoi in Mankote sector along the Line of Control with his service rifle on Monday.
As per the reports, the soldier identified as Ashish Kumar (Lance Naik) from 8 Garhwal Unit was found in pool of blood by his colleagues soon after they heard a gunshot and was immediately shifted to health facility where doctors declared him brought dead.
Pertinently, the reason for him taking such an extreme step is yet being ascertained.(KNB)
