Srinagar 20 Jan(KNB): An Indian Army soldier, Swr Pangala Kartheek, was killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore area on Monday, marking the first gunfight in the region in 2025.
According to reports reached to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB that The operation, conducted by a joint team of the Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police, was based on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists. Although the terrorists managed to flee the scene after an extensive search, the operation was called off.
The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps paid tribute to the martyred soldier, saluting his “supreme sacrifice” and expressing deepest condolences to his family.
J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also paid homage to the soldier, stating that his valour and sacrifice will never be forgotten.(KNB)
